MEET SHAUN KOHLMAN
As an educator, Shaun’s students have been touring the country in SIX The Musical, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Grease, Girl from the North Country, Shrek, Jagged Little Pill, Next To Normal and Mamma Mia. After first successfully auditioning for Bachelor courses at institutions such as the QLD Conservatorium, Elder Conservatorium and WAAPA.
Within his role as Artistic Director of ROCKIT Productions, he has directed many musicals, including CHICAGO, HEATHERS, BRING IT ON and A CHORUS LINE. Shaun has also produced work for The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols on the Riverstage, Creative Generations: State Schools Onstage (airing on Network TEN) and Toasted TV for Network TEN.
Finding the balance as a performer, voice specialist, acting coach, director and educator is a tricky judging act but one that he takes in his stride. This is the reason he is uniquely suited as the Artistic Director of ROCKIT Productions.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Shaun is a uniquely talented performer, director and arts educator. His infectious passion for theatre and his ability to guide and inspire creative individuals is a superpower. His unique voice travels from Folk-Rock to Broadway-Pop, making him a true contemporary musical theatre tenor.
Shaun is currently on the journey to his Masters of Music Studies (Vocal Pedagogy) at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, unpacking the scientific study of the human voice for singers and actors.
As Shaun has built a home for himself in QLD, his recent performance credits have been creative developments of new musicals, including JULIE in partnership with Cre8ion and True Friend Productions, USA, A NIGHT AT THE PINK POODLE with Belloo Creative and ANY MOMENT with Old Fashion Theatricals. Stage credits include Jervis in DADDY LONG LEGS which was nominated for a Matilda Award for Best Musical and Peter in BARE THE MUSICAL (Woodward Productions). Shaun’s previous work has taken him all over the country with credits including; FiZZ! (Opera QLD/Shake&Stir), 35mm: A Musical Exhibition (Incubator Festival), NEXT TO NORMAL (Spotlight), BLOOD BROTHERS, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, GREASE & THE WIZARD OF OZ (QPAC/HRTC), and INTO THE WOODS (GCLT). ​
